Professional & Community Performances
Special Performances
At Company Dance, we realize that the more performance opportunities our students have, the better performers they will be. In the last 10 years, so many wonderful performance opportunities have been offered to Company Dance- outside of the studio and theater. Starting with the Channel 6-ABC Thanksgiving Day Parade in Philadelphia. Michelle Maurer, Company Dance’s Owner/Artistic Director, was hired to choreograph the opening and closing numbers of the parade. The Company Dance Divas were invited as their dancers! This parade was televised Thanksgiving Day, and seen by over 1 million viewers.
Professional Opportunities
In addition to the opening and closing headliners, Michelle and our dancers were given the opportunity to choreograph and dance with American Idol’s own- Ace Young. Nine of our girls performed as back up dancers, to Michelle’s choreography. The following year, Disney Cruise Line Productions also hired Michelle to choreograph a number for the Philadelphia Parade. in addition to that performance, our Divas were hired to film a commercial featuring the world famous Donald and Daisy Duck! While the Philadelphia parade has been a wonderful experience for the studio and the dancers, giving back to the local community has been a priority of Company Dance. Our students have been invited and performed at such events as “Relay for Life” in Hershey, Pa., Children’s Literacy Festival in Harrisburg, Pa., and the Children’s Celebration of the Arts in Harrisburg, Pa.
Community Entertainment
Company Dance also takes pride in entering events that are just plain fun! Giving our students the experience of community, coupled with the opportunity to entertain, is what we love to do. Annual Holiday Parades are just such events. Accompanied by a float, the Divas dance their way through the streets! And now that Company Dance is located in Palmyra, Pa., we are Proud to join the community events in our new Home Town!
Thank You
to the Parents, Families, and Friends who continue to brave the elements, to come out and support the Company Dance Parade Dancers. This would not be possible without you!
